Peek Inside NYC's Most Decadent Holiday Windows!

/ November 29, 2011 11:20 am

One of New York City's most festive displays of holiday spirit are just that — witness the city's holiday window displays. Sitting (store)front and center, encased for all entering shoppers and passersby to see, are majestic, miniature worlds of style and wonder at storied retail destinations like Tiffany & Co., Bloomingdale's, and Macy's. In true NYC form, there's no shortage of glitz, glamour, whimsy, and the purely fantastic inside these magical life-sized dioramas. From a bright and beautiful marine-inspired dream at Bergdorf Goodman to a very Gaga Christmas underway at Barneys, the city's annual holiday window creations are breathtaking, creative, and beyond decadent. It's worth your while to make the viewing pilgrimage, but until then click through to see this year's wildly festive windows.

Stay tuned for display additions from Henri Bendel, Saks Fifth Avenue, and more!

11 (and Counting) Reasons I'm Obsessed With Frank Prisinzano's New Resto Sauce

/ November 28, 2011 11:31 am

I admit, I'm a bit of a Frank Prisinzano loyalist, and this isn't the first time I've professed my restaurant-related adoration. But trust me, I'm doing you a huge foodie favor by urging you — most politely — to beeline straight for Sauce (78 Rivington St., 212-420-7700), his latest take on Italian home-style cookin'. The Lower East Side restaurant is spacious and warm, smells like grandma's kitchen (that is, if your grandma happens to prepare meaty pastas all day long), and meets high ragu expectations. I love the quirky attention to detail. Whether it be the rustic silverware chandeliers, resident butcher shop meat case, East Village Radio-selected tunes blaring, or the school chalkboards displaying handwritten house specialties, the familiar Frank charm and delicious fare is sure to win you over, too. Take a look inside Sauce and see what dishes should be on your must-order list!
