With rumors swirling that the Barneys warehouse sale could be on its way out (for good), we could be devoid of those biannual deep designer discounts and crazy shopper antics so closely associated with the event. Although I was more than a little disappointed by this season's sale selection, I'm not sure I want Barneys CEO Mark Lee to do away with it forever. It seems a bit sacrilegious. Since its inception, the Barneys warehouse sale has held so much lucrative promise and designer goodie potential that the thought of not having a chance at last season's Rodarte shoes makes me sad. On the flip side, Lee is responsible for improving upon the retailer's current declining numbers and struggling image, and he believes that getting rid of the lowly warehouse sale would help the brand's high-brow identity. What do you think?
