Florist on File: Bouquets From Fleurs Bella Make Everything Better

I made a pit stop at J.Crew's downtown headquarters this morning to get a sneak peek at the Madewell Spring 2012 collection. While it was cool, bright, and eclectic inside, you know it has been a much different scene outside. On my way out, the Madewell crew encouraged me to grab a bouquet of fresh flowers. Wait, what? Sure enough, there was a cart positioned at the showroom exit; fragrant roses, hydrangea, and other assorted flowers were being arranged and tied together in shabby chic twine-tied paper bag bouquets (pictured above), all courtesy of local florist Fleurs Bella (55 E. 11th St., 646-602-7037). It's incredible how a bunch of petals and stems can perk you up. It reminded me that, as the seasons go from warm to cold to colder, it's good to have a flurry of pick-me-up options, whether it be a flower shop, a cozy cafe, or a stellar dry cleaning delivery service. Case in point: a fab florist that can whip together a bouquet of something fresh, aesthetically pleasing, and unique to offset the weather blues.
I'm a newly converted fan of Fleurs Bella, so it certainly doesn't hurt that its gorgeous shop is right next door to the PopSugar NYC office. What are the odds? One of the things I love about this floral destination is that it puts fresh-cut flowers outside for passersby, free for the taking. Do you have a must-visit florist that didn't make the Pop 5? Let me know below.
