J. Crew's Crewcuts Coming Soon to Tribeca Neighborhood, February 2011
Tribeca Gets a Crewcut — A J. Crew Crewcuts, That Is

You wonder why New Yorkers are effortlessly stylish? Here's your answer — we start 'em young. J. Crew's kids' clothing line, Crewcuts, will open its second standalone space in Tribeca's particularly younger-gen fashion-forward neighborhood. Slated to open sometime in February, Crewcuts (50 Hudson St.) will help clothe the hip city dwellers' progeny, and if these children look as put together as the kids pictured above, then how long before we see the emergence of a "baby Sartorialist"-type site?
I have to give props to J. Crew for treading lightly on Tribeca's toes by way of this tongue-in-chic window poster, currently hanging in the Crewcuts space (see above at right). Read closely: written chalkboard punishment style, the store decrees that you must "still buy shoes at Shoefly [sic]," "not start a food fight at Bubby's," and "not bring my dog into Washington Market Park," along with other city-specific rules. Nice to see that the clothing chain is, at the very least, trying to play friendly with the local boutiques and eateries surrounding the future Crewcuts space.
