I wasn't exactly starving after a wholesome dose of meatballs, burgers, and tacos. But as day four of the NYC Wine & Food Festival arrived, I knew I had one more base to cover before crossing home plate — the Grand Tasting at Pier 57.
The gigantic hangar transforms itself into an adult playground of cooking demos, culinary showmanship, and wines and spirits from all over the world. With more than 60 exhibitors, 70 featured chefs, and an unlimited supply of sustenance, Sunday's gastronomic festivities couldn't have been a more perfect and appropriate way to "exit" the festival. Here are my 11 Grand Tasting standouts. Each bite is worth a visit to the restaurants from whence they came.
