Life's a beach, so why not go to the best one? Within reasonable public transportation travel means, of course. Even if you're not Hamptons bound every weekend, you can still get your sun and fun from a plethora of beaches scattered along the five boroughs. Let's see here, there's Brooklyn's Brighton Beach and Coney Island, the Bronx's Orchard Beach (pictured above), and Queens' Rockaway Beach, to name a few. Whether it's silky sand, amusement park rides on the boardwalk, or minimal crowding — not so surprisingly — NYC's got your beach needs covered.
